Students' Artwork Displayed NationallyPosted: 14th September 2017
Young artists have had their work displayed in countywide and national showcases.
Students from Forest Hall School, in Stansted, have been invited to display their work at both the Students’ National Art Exhibition and the Essex Schools Art Showcase.
Year 9 student Gabi Salmon was chosen to exhibit her Marilyn Monroe artwork at the London Mall Gallery as part of the national event.
It is the third year a student from the school has been included in the exhibition after submitting work to be judged by a panel of artists.
GCSE art and photography students were also selected to have their work included in the Essex Schools Art Showcase.
Year 9, 10 and 11 students saw their work take pride of place at the exhibition in a shopping centre in Chelmsford.
Jade Whitehead, subject leader of art, design and technology, said: “These are fantastic opportunities for our students. The work submitted was of a very high standard.
“The Chelmsford showcase was an excellent way to exhibit GCSE artwork to the public. The comments from the public were all positive and encouraging of the concept of promoting students’ work in this way.”
