Young People Exceed Expectations

Young People Exceed Expectations

Posted: 11th January 2023

Young people have been recognised for exceeding expectations.

Students were celebrated at an event for winners of the Jack Petchey Foundation Achievement Award.

Each month, students at Forest Hall are nominated by their teachers for a Jack Petchey Award for their commitment to being exceptional and rising above expectations, helping others and completing challenges.

The winner is given a certificate and the opportunity to decide what department the £300 donated to the school from The Jack Petchey Foundation should be spent on.

Students attended the celebration event, along with their peers from across the Uttlesford district.

Kayleigh Trainor, assistant headteacher, said: “This award scheme increases students’ aspirations as they see their achievements get rewarded. It really does raise aspirations and allows us to focus on the positives, rather than the negatives.

“This was a lovely evening celebrating the successes of the students from Forest Hall with The Jack Petchey Foundation. Many of these students have been awarded their Jack Petchey Award for exceeding the expectations of not only staff, but also themselves.

“The Jack Petchey Foundation ethos feeds into everything we believe at Forest Hall School; if you think you can, you can!

“We will certainly be continuing with our Jack Petchey Awards, as our students deserve the recognition for being exceptional young people.”
