Uniform

Students are expected to wear school uniform. It provides a suitable standard of dress; it reflects a sense of belonging to the school community and it does help to remove some of the obvious differences in wealth. We hope you and your child will be proud to display the fact that they are a student at Forest Hall School.

You will receive information about Top Form, a uniform stockist, but black blazers and black trousers may be purchased from other stockists providing they meet the school requirements.

School Blazer
Black designer style jacket (with school badge)

House Tie
With House colours

Jumper (optional)
Black knitted V neck. Sweatshirts or hooded tops are NOT to be worn

School Skirt or Black Trousers
Trousers must be plain, straight and of a tailored variety. No tight fitting/’skinny’ trousers, cords, jeans, fancy trims or fastenings. Cropped trousers, footless tights or leggings are not acceptable. The hem of the skirt must be at the knee. The black school skirt can only be bought from Top Form in Harlow.

Shirt
White. Worn tucked in. Must be worn buttoned at the neck.

Socks or Tights
Socks must be white or plain black. Tights must be plain natural coloured or black.

Shoes
Black leather/leather style school shoes which should be sensible and low-heeled – not canvas type. (Backless shoes, boots and trainers, platform shoes, sling-back and pointed heels are NOT permitted).

Outdoor wear should be sensible and preferably black. All the above should be PLAIN, without slits, trims, checks, stripes or spots.

Discreet make-up is allowed in 11 ONLY

Nail varnish is not allowed. False nails are not allowed, including acrylic nails and gel polish.

False eyelashes are not allowed.

No high definition (HD) brows or contouring make-up allowed.

Extreme, unnaturally coloured or patterned hairstyles are not permitted. Unnatural colouring includes streaks, two-tone or dipped hairstyles. We would consider short hairstyles less than a No.2 to be unsuitable.

One pair of small ear studs in earlobes is the only jewellery permitted. Nose studs or jewellery of other facial piercing is not permitted at Forest Hall School. No bracelets, necklaces or rings. Tongue piercings are also not permitted.

Full school uniform must be worn at all times, including to and from school.

Students will be given consequences if they do not follow the above.

Any jewellery that is deemed inappropriate will be confiscated from students and it is their responsibility to collect this from main reception at the end of the day.

All uniform should be clearly named.  We cannot accept responsibility for lost items of uniform or personal belongings.

Parents may sometimes be persuaded to buy fashion garments and shoes which then find their way to school as uniform and can wear out. We ask you to bear in mind that the uniform requirements set out above are long term.
